Toyota just announced it will create a $2.8 billion self-driving car company. When I think about our aging population, the autonomous car will have perhaps the most significant impact. If you are a CEO with an elderly mom here is a likely scenario. You mom will be able to tell Alexa to have a car arrive to take her to McDonald’s for lunch. But here’s the twist I envision, while she’s in the car thinking about those fries, the car will connect with your mom’s mobile device which is monitoring her health. And perhaps without communication, the car will make the decision and instead drive her to a healthy natural food restaurant. This little, likely scenario brings up a greater truth … in a world of true IoT, computers may make increasingly more decisions about how we live our life.
