… A few months ago I interviewed Chris Policinski and was asking him what business he was in. His answer surprised me, “Land O’Lakes is actually a technology company.” He continued and spoke about precision agriculture and how LOL uses their significant big data platform to provide customers information to help get crops agronomically and economically just right.
It reminded me of when in the late 1990s Andy Grove of Intel was asked about companies being internet companies and he replied that in the future all successful companies will be internet companies. Land O’Lakes is to me an example of how leading enterprises are becoming technology companies … Land O’Lakes is just recognizing this before many other great brands are. So the question to you as a CEO is, “Are you a technology company … yet?”
